Pay your credit card a set amount double or triple than the required until full repayment. Usually the required amount is the one that will keep balance going to the infinity. Following this advice you earn the interest plus repayment time.
Take advantage of local "Give and Take" & Recycling days, you can take in all the stuff that you no longer use or need and come home with things that you do want instead - all for free. Good for the environment and your pocket. You can usually find these type of events through your local Freecyle or your local council.

Never buy anything with a credit card unless you already have the money to pay it off in full at the end of the month.

Always buy the reduced items at the supermarket and freeze them. It saves a lot of money in the long run.
Stick to own brand / economy lines as it mostly tastes the same and costs a lot less.

Only buy stuff you really need, don't impulse buy.
Avoid going looking round high street shops to avoid temptation.
If you really do need something, have a look online with price comparison sites first and use a cashback site and discount codes to reduce the costs even further.

Take advantage of all the loyalty schemes in any shop you regularly use.

Use fleece blankets to snuggle under in the living room on winter eves to help lower the heating bills.

If your mobile contract is at an end think whether you really need a new handset or whether your old one would be fine on a SIM only deal. (Currently I pay under £7 a month for a SIM only contract.)

Always look for new ways of making savings:
I used to buy fancy floor cleaners, now I buy a huge bottle of economy line bleach (about 30p) and use some with a squirt of washing up liquid in a bucket of hot water every time I mop the floor - it costs pennies, kills germs and does a great job.
